Getting started
What vveb.top is and how to go from nothing to a working link.
What is vveb.top?
vveb.top is a link shortener built for creators. A short link sends people to your page like any other shortener. The difference is what happens inside Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Snapchat. Those apps open links in a stripped-down browser of their own, where your fan is logged out and their saved card is missing. vveb.top moves them into their real browser (Safari or Chrome) so they arrive signed in and ready to buy.
Who is vveb.top for?
Anyone who shares links from social apps and cares what happens after the tap: creators, shops, coaches, agencies and teams. It is built for audiences in India and the UAE, and it prices in INR and USD.
How do I create an account?
- Open the sign-up page.
- Pick Google, an email link, or an email and password.
- Name your workspace. This is the space your links and team live in.
- Make your first link, or skip that step and do it later from the dashboard.
The Free plan needs no card.
How do I make my first short link?
Paste a long link into the box on Home, or press New link (or the N key on a computer). Add a title if you like, then create it. You get a short link you can copy and share straight away.
Where do I find my dashboard?
Sign in and you land on the dashboard. On a computer the menu sits on the left. On a phone it sits along the bottom. It has Home, Links, Collections, Insights, Developers and Settings.
What do I get for free?
The Free plan gives you up to 10 links and 1,000 counted clicks a month, with the in-app browser escape, QR codes, collections and analytics included. Pro removes the link limit and the click cap and unlocks shorter short links. The pricing section on the home page shows the current price.
Do I need a card to sign up?
No. Free needs no payment details. Pro is paid by UPI, PayPal or Skydo, and there is no card stored with us.
Is there a phone app?
Not an app store app. The dashboard works in your phone browser and you can add it to your home screen. It is built phone first: the same screens, laid out for a thumb.
Creating and managing links
Short links, back-halves, titles, expiry dates and the Links screen.
How do I create a link?
Open New link, paste the destination, and press Create link. The destination needs to be a full web address that starts with http:// or https://. You can also create links from the Home screen box or through the API.
What is a back-half and how do I choose one?
The back-half is the part after the slash: in vveb.top/summer it is summer. Leave it empty and we generate a random one. Type your own to make a memorable link. Use letters, numbers and hyphens. It cannot start or end with a hyphen, and it is not case sensitive, so Summer and summer are the same link.
How long are the random short links?
The length comes from your preference, falling back to the default vveb.top sets for new links. Longer links are harder to guess. You can change your preference in Settings, under Preferences, or pick a length for a single link in the New link panel. Shorter lengths are a Pro feature, and vveb.top decides which lengths Free workspaces can use. Custom back-halves ignore the default length, though a Free workspace cannot type a custom name in a locked length either.
Why can't I use a particular back-half?
Three things block a back-half. It may be taken already, since each one is unique across vveb.top. It may be a reserved word we keep for the product (such as app, login, help or terms). Or it may be in a length your plan locks. The panel tells you which one applies.
Can I change where a link goes after I share it?
Yes. Open the link, press Edit, change the destination and save. Everyone who taps it from then on lands on the new page. People who already have the old page open are not moved. We tell browsers to re-check the link within seconds, so a change reaches visitors quickly.
What happens to the old link if I change the back-half?
It keeps working. Changing the back-half adds the new one and leaves the old one in place, so links you already shared do not break.
What is the title for?
The title is a label for you and your team. Visitors never see it. If you leave it empty we read the title from the destination page.
Can a link stop working on a date?
Yes. Set Stop working on in the link panel. After that moment the link answers with a not-found page. It suits limited drops and giveaways. The Links screen marks links that are about to end, and links that already ended show as paused. Clear the date to bring the link back.
How do I pause and resume a link?
Open the menu on the link row and choose Pause. A paused link shows a not-found page to visitors and keeps its stats. Choose Resume to switch it back on. You can also select several rows and pause or resume them together.
Why can't I delete a link?
A link that has received clicks cannot be deleted, because its history belongs in your numbers. Pause it instead. A link with no clicks can be deleted from its menu. Deleting is permanent.
How do I find a link among many?
On the Links screen press / to jump to the search box. Search matches the title, the destination and every back-half. You can also filter by active or paused, and sort by newest or by clicks.
Can I act on many links at once?
Yes. Tick the boxes on the Links screen and a bar appears with Pause, Resume and Delete. Delete only applies to links that have no clicks.
In-app browsers and the escape page
The reason vveb.top exists, and how the hand-off works.
What does "escape" mean?
Escape means moving a visitor from a social app's built-in browser into their real browser. When someone taps your link inside Instagram, Facebook or Messenger, vveb.top detects the app and hands the tap to Safari or Chrome with your destination. The destination then loads where the visitor is signed in and their saved cards work.
Does every visitor see the escape page?
No. Only visitors who tap from inside a supported social app. Everyone else gets a direct redirect with no page in between.
Which apps does the escape work in?
Instagram, Facebook and Messenger today. See Which apps does it work in? for the full list. In every app, a visitor who is not handed over still reaches your destination, inside the app's own browser.
Which apps does it work in?
| Works now | Coming soon |
|---|---|
| Instagram Messenger | TikTok Snapchat Threads X LINE |
Where it works, the tap moves to Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android. A phone without Chrome stays in the app's browser. Apps change how their browsers behave without notice, so results can vary by phone and app version. Links to every app keep working: where there is no hand-over yet, the destination opens inside the app's own browser.
Can I turn the escape off for one link?
Yes. In the link panel, switch off Escape in-app browsers. That link will then redirect directly, even inside social apps. The Links screen shows a small shield icon on links where escape is off.
Are escaped clicks counted?
Yes. Insights shows how many clicks started inside a social app, and which apps they came from. Every click is counted, including those from apps where the visitor stays in the app's browser.
Does the escape page slow people down?
The page is tiny, loads no blocking fonts and hands off in about a second and a half. Visitors outside social apps never see it.
QR codes
Codes for merch, flyers and stage screens.
How do I get a QR code for a link?
Open the menu on a link row and choose QR code, or press the QR button on the link's stats page. Pick a look and download it as PNG or SVG.
Which looks are available?
Classic, Tomato, Midnight, Mint, Lilac and Ocean. Each is tuned to stay scannable. Use SVG for print, since it stays sharp at any size.
Are QR scans counted?
Yes, and separately from taps, so you can see how many people came from a poster compared with a post. The link's stats page shows QR scans out of the total clicks.
If I change the destination, does my printed code still work?
Yes. The code holds the short link, not the destination. Edit where the link goes and the printed code follows. Do not delete or pause the link while the code is in use.
Collections
Group links for a drop, a campaign or a bio page.
What is a collection?
A collection groups links that belong together, such as everything for one launch. You see their clicks together.
How do I make a collection and add links?
Open Collections, press New collection, give it a name, and add the links that belong to it.
Can I archive a collection?
Yes. Archived collections wait on their own tab until you restore them. Archiving does not touch the links inside.
Does deleting a collection delete its links?
No. A collection only groups links. Removing it leaves every link and its stats as they were.
Insights and click tracking
What we count, how to read it and why numbers sometimes differ.
What does vveb.top record about a click?
For each click we store the time, the country, region and city that Cloudflare derives from the connection, the device type, operating system, browser and language, the referrer, any UTM tags on the link, and a one-way visitor fingerprint. We do not store the visitor's IP address. The privacy policy has the full list.
What do I see on the Insights screen?
Total clicks for a date range with the change against the period before, your top links, top countries, top referrers, and the apps people escaped from. Ranges run from 24 hours to all time. Each link also has its own stats page with countries, sources, devices, systems and browsers.
How quickly do clicks appear?
Within seconds. If a click is missing after a minute, see the troubleshooting section for the usual reasons.
What is the bot filter?
Crawlers, link-preview fetchers and security scanners open links without a human. We flag them and, by default, leave them out of your numbers. You can turn the filter off in Settings, under Preferences, to see every request.
What are self referrers?
Clicks that come from vveb.top itself, for example when you test a link from your own dashboard. They are hidden by default so your testing does not inflate your stats. You can turn that off in Preferences.
Do you count unique visitors?
We keep a daily fingerprint made from the visitor's connection and browser, scrambled with a secret salt that changes every day. It lets us tell repeat taps from new ones within a day. It cannot be reversed into an IP address, and it does not follow a person from one day to the next.
Are UTM tags tracked?
Yes. If a visitor arrives with utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term or utm_content on the short link, we record them with the click.
What happens to stats when I pass the Free click cap?
The links keep redirecting. Only the recording stops: clicks over 1,000 in a calendar month are not added to your stats until the next month starts. Pro has no cap.
Why do my numbers differ from another tool?
Tools count differently. We hide bots and self referrers by default, count the month in UTC, and record a click when the short link loads, not when the destination page finishes. A destination with its own analytics will always show fewer visits than clicks, because some people leave before the page loads.
Workspaces, members and roles
Working with a team in one shared space.
What is a workspace?
A workspace holds your links, collections, members and plan. Everyone in it sees the same links. Your plan and its limits belong to the workspace, not to a person.
What can each role do?
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing and upgrades, workspace settings, API keys and members. Owners add, change and remove other owners, and a workspace always keeps at least one. |
| Admin | Everything except billing and owners: links, slugs and collections (including deleting them), stats, workspace settings, API keys, and adding, changing or removing members. |
| Member | Create and edit links, slugs and collections, and see all stats. Members cannot delete, manage members or API keys, change workspace settings or open billing. |
How do I add a teammate?
Owners and admins can do this from Settings, then Members. There are two ways.
- Add by email. Enter their email, pick a role and add them. They sign in with that email address, by Google or an email link, and land in your workspace.
- Invite link. Enter their email, pick Admin or Member and create the link. We do not send email, so copy the link and send it to them yourself. We show it once. They open it, sign in with the invited email address and choose Join workspace.
An invite link works once and expires after 7 days. Pending invites are listed under Invite link, where you can revoke one before it is used. A person who already belongs to another workspace cannot join a second one.
What happens when I remove a member?
They lose access to the workspace straight away. The links they made stay with the workspace.
How do I rename my workspace?
Open Settings, then Workspace, and edit the name. Owners and admins can do this.
Can I belong to more than one workspace?
Each sign-in belongs to one workspace today. If you need to work across several, write to us and we will help you plan it.
Plans, limits and what happens at a limit
What Free and Pro include, and exactly what happens when a plan ends.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
| Free | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Links | Up to 10 | No limit |
| Counted clicks a month | 1,000 | No cap |
| Shorter short links | Locked | Included |
| Escape, QR codes, collections, insights | Included | Included |
What happens when I hit the link limit?
You cannot create more links until you delete one that has no clicks, or go Pro. Existing links keep working. The Go Pro screen shows how much of the limit you have used.
What happens when I hit the click cap?
Past the cap, redirects keep working and only the recording of extra clicks pauses until the first day of the next month (UTC). Pro removes the cap.
What happens when my Pro plan ends?
Pro runs until its paid-until date. Seven days before it ends, the Go Pro screen and the menu warn you. After the date you get a grace period of 3 days with everything still working. If you have not renewed by then, the workspace moves to Free.
Will my links stop working when Pro ends?
Links within the Free limit keep working. If you have more than 10 links, the ones above the limit pause. We keep the 10 with the most clicks in the last 30 days live, and the older link wins a tie. A paused link shows a page that says it is paused, records no clicks and is not deleted. Nothing is deleted when a plan ends.
Can I choose which links stay live?
Yes. On the Links screen, paused links carry a Plan paused tag. Open the menu on one, choose Swap in, and pick the live link that pauses in its place. The number of live links never grows beyond the limit.
What happens when I pay again after a downgrade?
Every paused link resumes the moment the payment is approved. Your stats, collections and members were never touched.
Do I lose any data when I move to Free?
No. Links, click history, collections and members all stay. The limits only decide which links are live and how many new clicks are recorded.
Paying for Pro
How payment works, how long it takes and how renewal works.
How do I upgrade?
- Open Go Pro in the menu. Only the workspace owner can upgrade.
- Choose monthly or yearly.
- Pay by UPI, PayPal or Skydo using the details shown.
- Send your payment reference on the same screen.
Your plan switches on once the payment clears.
Which payment methods do you accept?
UPI (scan with GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or your bank app, or copy the UPI ID), PayPal and Skydo. We do not take cards directly and we never see or store card numbers.
How long until Pro is on?
We check each payment by hand, so activation is not instant. Your request shows as pending on the Go Pro screen until it is approved. If a request stays pending longer than you expect, write to us with your payment reference.
How long does a payment last?
A monthly payment adds 30 days of Pro. A yearly payment adds 365 days.
Does Pro renew by itself?
No. There is no autopay, so nothing charges you without you acting. Pay again before the date to extend. An early payment adds time on top of what you have left, so you never lose days by renewing early.
Which currency will I pay in?
The Go Pro screen shows prices in INR and USD. Pay in the one that suits your method. UPI is in INR.
Can I get an invoice or receipt?
Write to support@vveb.top with your workspace name and payment reference and we will send one.
Can I get a refund?
Pro is prepaid and we do not refund unused time as a rule. If you paid by mistake or paid twice, write to us within 7 days and we will review it. Where the law gives you a refund right, we honour it. See the terms for the full wording.
Your account and signing in
Sign-in methods, profile settings and keeping your account safe.
How can I sign in?
Three ways: Google, an email link (we send a one-time link, no password), or an email and password. All three lead to the same workspace when they use the same email address.
How does the email link work?
Enter your address and we email a sign-in link. Open it on the same device and browser where you asked for it. The link works once and expires, so ask for a new one if it does not.
What is a backup email?
A second address that also signs in to your workspace. Add one in Settings, under Profile, in case you lose access to the first.
How do I change my name or avatar?
Open Settings, then Profile. Your name shows in your greeting and to your team. The avatar is drawn from your email so it looks the same everywhere, and you can shuffle it until you like one.
Can I use dark mode?
Yes. Use the theme button, or choose Light or Dark in Settings under Preferences. Soft Pop is the light look and Midnight Garden is the dark one. The choice is remembered in your browser.
How do I sign out, and how long do I stay signed in?
Use Sign out in the menu or in Settings, under Profile. If you do not, a session lasts up to 180 days on that browser.
How do I sign out of every device?
Open Settings, then Profile, and choose Sign out of all devices. Every browser and phone signed in as you is signed out the next time it loads a page, and so is the one you are using. Do this after losing a device or using a shared computer. Signing in again on a device works as usual.
How do I delete my account?
Account deletion is handled by request today. Write to support@vveb.top from the email you sign in with and we will delete the workspace and its data. See the privacy policy for what happens to your data.
Abuse, reports and blocked links
How we keep vveb.top safe, and what to do about a link that looks wrong.
How do I report a link?
Open the link. If it was disabled or sends you through the escape page, you will see a Report a link option. Pick a reason (phishing, malware, spam, illegal content or something else), add details if you can, and send. You can add an email address if you want a reply. You do not need an account.
Is there a limit on reports?
Yes, five an hour per person, to stop abuse of the form. Genuine reports fit well inside it.
Why was my link disabled?
We disable links that break the acceptable use rules: phishing, malware, scams, illegal content and similar. A disabled link shows a page that says so and records no clicks. A workspace cannot switch it back on. If you think we made a mistake, write to support@vveb.top with the short link.
Why can't I create a link to a particular website?
We block some domains outright, with all their subdomains, because they are used for abuse. The panel says the destination is blocked. If you believe a site is blocked in error, write to us.
What if a destination turns bad after I made the link?
Blocking works on existing links too. A link to a domain that we later block shows the disabled page instead of redirecting.
Developers, API and integrations
Automating vveb.top from your own code.
Why does Developers say Coming soon?
Developer tools open in stages. While a part is not open to everyone, you see a preview of what is on the way instead of the working screen. API keys that were already issued keep working.
Is there an API?
Yes. The REST API creates, lists, updates and pauses links, reads analytics, and manages collections. Create a key on the Developers screen and send it as a bearer token. The API reference is served at /_/api/docs.
How do API keys work?
A key belongs to your workspace, not to the person who made it. Everyone in the workspace sees the list, including who made each key and when it was last used. Only owners and admins can create or revoke keys. We show the full key once when you create it, then keep only a hash, so we cannot show it again. Copy it somewhere safe. If you lose it, revoke it and make a new one. Keys can be limited to a scope when you create them.
Are there SDKs?
SDKs for TypeScript, Python and Dart are being prepared, along with a browser extension. The Developers screen lists what is ready.
Can an AI assistant work with my links?
Yes. Add https://mcp.vveb.top as an MCP server in your assistant. Open that address in a browser for steps per assistant and the list of tools. Connecting opens a vveb.top page where you sign in, see your workspace name and the access the assistant asks for, and choose Allow or Deny.
- Owners and admins can allow reading and changing links, slugs and collections.
- Members can allow reading only, the same as a read-only API key.
- The assistant only ever sees your workspace.
A connection renews itself, and each renewal checks your role again. If you are removed or your role drops, access ends within 1 hour. You can disconnect at any time from the assistant's connection settings.
Do API calls count against my plan?
Links made through the API count toward your link limit like any other. Clicks count toward the click cap in the same way.
Troubleshooting
Symptoms, causes and fixes.
My short link shows a not-found page
Work down this list:
- Paused: open the Links screen and check for a Paused tag, then resume it.
- Expired: check the link's end date.
- Typo: compare the address with the back-half in your dashboard. Back-halves are not case sensitive, but every character must match.
- Deleted: a deleted link cannot be recovered. Create it again with the same back-half.
My link shows a page saying it is disabled or paused
"This link was disabled" means we turned it off for breaking the rules, see Why was my link disabled?. "This link is paused" means your workspace is over the Free link limit, so the link was paused. Swap it in or go Pro, see Can I choose which links stay live?.
Clicks are not showing up
Check these, in order:
- Wait a minute and refresh. Clicks usually appear within seconds.
- Check the date range on Insights.
- Check Hide bot clicks and Hide clicks from your own site in Preferences. Your own tests are hidden by default.
- On Free, see whether you passed 1,000 clicks this month. Redirects still work, but extra clicks are not recorded.
The link still opens inside the app's browser
Check three things. First, the app: the hand-over works in Instagram, Facebook and Messenger, and other apps are coming soon, see Which apps does it work in?. Second, Escape in-app browsers must be on for that link. Third, on Android the hand-over opens Chrome, so a phone without Chrome stays in the app. Test by tapping the link from inside the app, because a normal browser never shows the escape page.
I can't create a link
The panel names the reason. The common ones: the destination is not a full web address, the back-half is invalid or taken, the destination domain is blocked, or you reached the 10 link limit on Free.
The delete option is greyed out
Links with clicks cannot be deleted. Pause the link instead, which stops it working and keeps its history.
The email sign-in link does not work
Open it on the same device and browser where you requested it, because the browser remembers your address for the sign-in. Each link works once and expires, so request a fresh one. Check spam if nothing arrives, and confirm that you typed the address you used to sign up.
Google sign-in fails or the popup closes
Allow pop-ups for vveb.top, turn off tracking blockers for the sign-in page, and try again. If it still fails, use the email link instead. Both end in the same workspace when the email matches.
I signed in but I'm asked to name a workspace
That happens when the email you signed in with is not on any workspace yet. Name one to start your own. If you expected to join a teammate's workspace, ask them to add the exact email you used, then sign in again.
I paid but I'm still on Free
We approve payments by hand, so there is a wait. Check that you sent your payment reference on the Go Pro screen. If it still shows pending after a day, write to support@vveb.top with the reference and the workspace name.
My workspace shows as suspended
When you sign in to a suspended workspace, you see a page that names it and gives our contact address, instead of the dashboard. Nobody in the workspace can open the dashboard or change links, collections or members until it is active again. We suspend for payment problems or rule breaches. Write to support@vveb.top and we will explain and help.
The dashboard looks stale or broken after an update
Reload the page. If a screen still misbehaves, clear the site's data for vveb.top in your browser settings and sign in again. If the problem persists, send us a screenshot and what you were doing.
How do I know if vveb.top is down?
The status page shows the health of the database and the cache. The dot at the bottom of the menu shows the same at a glance.
Privacy and your data
A short version. The full text lives in the privacy and cookie policies.
Who can see my links and stats?
Only members of your workspace, and the vveb.top staff who run the service when they need to support you or stop abuse.
Do you sell data?
No. We do not sell personal data, and we do not show advertising.
What do you know about the people who click my links?
Only what is in the click record: roughly where they are (country, region, city), what device and browser they use, and where they came from. We do not store their IP address, and we do not know who they are.
Do you use cookies?
A few, all functional. One keeps you signed in, and the browser stores your theme choice. Visitors who click your links get no cookie from us. See the cookie policy.
Can I get a copy of my data, or have it deleted?
Yes. Write to support@vveb.top from your sign-in email. See the privacy policy for your rights and our response times.
Still stuck?
How to reach us.
How do I contact support?
Email support@vveb.top. Include the short link, what you expected, what happened, and a screenshot if you can. Mention your workspace name so we can find it quickly.
Can I suggest a feature?
Please do. Email us with what you are trying to do. Help inside the dashboard is planned, so you will be able to ask for help, send feedback and request higher limits without leaving the app. The roadmap lists what else is coming.
Can I ask for a higher limit without going Pro?
Write to us with what you are building and the limit you need. We read every request.
Still stuck?
Write to support@vveb.top with the link or screen you are looking at. A screenshot helps.
